Day 1 Sun: Arrive Cairns
On arrival in Cairns you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend time at leisure. Perhaps relax beside the pool at the resort. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director and fellow travelling companions before dinner at the hotel.
Hotel: Cairns Colonial Club, (standard), Cairns, 6 nights.

Day 2 Mon: Kuranda
Today board the famous Kuranda Railway at Freshwater Station. Enjoy a breathtaking trip on one of the world’s most scenic operational rail journeys. On arrival in Kuranda, there is free time to take a stroll through the famous Kuranda Markets. Return to the lowlands by the Skyrail Cableway which takes you above the canopy of the tropical rainforest. Visit the award-winning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park and learn about this ancient culture through theatre, stage shows and demonstrations, before your transfer back to the hotel.

Day 3 Tue: Great Barrier Reef
Join the Sunlover boat and cruise to Moore Reef. View magnificent coral and sea life through the windows of a special semi-submersible craft and underwater observatory. There is the opportunity for swimming and snorkelling over the reef (equipment provided). Later enjoy a delicious tropical buffet lunch.
Day 4 Wed: Cairns ‘Free Time’
Enjoy a day at leisure in Cairns. There is an opportunity for an optional excursion today. Your Tour Director can assist you with suggestions. Those seeking adventure may try white water rafting, horse riding or maybe even sky diving or chasing the elusive marlin on a fishing charter. For a more relaxed day head into town for some shopping at the Pier Marketplace or why not have a massage or chill out by the pool at your resort.

Day 5 Thu: Atherton Tablelands
Climb the high tropical plateau known as the Atherton Tablelands, where lush rainforests, waterfalls and lakes abound. Enjoy a guided cruise with full commentary on the serene crater of Lake Barrine and watch for pelicans and other wildlife. View the famous Curtain Fig Tree and Millaa Millaa Falls. Head back to Cairns in the late afternoon.

Day 6 Fri: Cairns ‘Free Time’
Enjoy a day at leisure. Perhaps take an excursion to Cape Tribulation and the spectacular rainforests of the Daintree National Park. An expert guide will take you on a walk and explain some of the fascinating secrets of one of the world’s oldest rainforests. You could also join a guided cruise on the Daintree River for an opportunity to spot the fearless saltwater crocodile!
Day 7 Sat: Depart Cairns
Your tour ends today after breakfast. Bid farewell to your Tour Director and fellow travelling companions as we transfer you to Cairns Airport for your onward flight.

DUNK ISLAND

This island of peace and plenty offers an amazing variety of activities, facilities and experiences. Explore the rainforest on one of the National Park’s walking trails.
