The Lakes resort is one of the largest fully self contained holiday resorts in the north Queensland region. It is located on an 11 acre site a short drive from both the Cairns airport and the Cairns CBD. The resort is built around a network of swimming pools and is targeted at the family market. Reasonably priced restaurants and lots of kids activities are a feature of the resort.
The resort has many other features for the convenience of their guests. There is a resort store, Barb Que facilities, tennis courts, modern, fully equipped gymnasiums, and a resort bus for those trips to town and evening entertainment in the cairns CBD.
The resort lies next door to the Cairns botanical gardens which feature some magnificent rain forest walks and many species of plants that are exclusive to this tropical region. There is also an art gallery for local artists to show off their creations.
