Touring Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world in a Palace High Top 4WD gives you the freedom to visit as many of the island's attractions as you like and for as long as you choose. We'll help you plan your trip around the tides so you get the max from the time you have. Trek to emerald green Lake Wabby, or swim in the crystal clear blue waters of Lake McKenzie. Check out the Maheno Shipwreck or take a walk around central station. It's all up to you.
Choose your own camp site from those with varying facilities through to areas of complete remoteness. We'll help you with your selection of camping equipment to ensure you have all the necessary equipment for your safari.
Our suggested itinerary gives you the opportunity to discover the amazing beauty of Fraser Island and experience a classic Australian camping safari while sleeping under a blanket of stars.

Palace Stargazer 3 day/2 Night 4x4 Self-Drive Camping Safari: $140 per person
Company Suplies:
- Vehicle's which are safe & easy to drive and allow all of your gear to be locked inside the vehicle while you explore Fraser. Their fleet ranges from spacious 100 Series to the unique high top Landcruisers.
- All necessary camping equipment including camp mats.

- Arrive & depart via Kingfisher Bay Resort
- Beach Cricket and Football gear
- A small soft day backpack with your change of clothing

- A current driver's licence for those over the age of 21 years of age who wish to drive. 18+ passengers are welcome.
- Sunscreen, hat & insect repellent
- $1 coins for HOT SHOWERS (available in designated camp sites only)
- Your CAMERA & a sense of fun and adventure
- Allow $6 pp if you want to hire a sleeping bag
- Allow $10-$20 pp for food & drinks
- Allow $50 pp for National Parks & Camping Permits, return Ferry/Barge ticket, ice, locker hire & insurance excess reducer (the insurance component will reduce the liability payable by your group in the event of an accident
- You will be asked to contribute your share of the $100 vehicle bond. Half of this is payable in cash, with the balance taken on credit card. The bond will be refunded in full if the vehicle is returned undamaged. The bond will be forfeited if the vehicle is driven through salt water.
- with 2 nights dorm accommodation: $165 per person
- with 4 nights dorm accommodation: $205 per person
Includes: all of the above, plus 2 or 4 nights dorm style accommodation at any of our carefully selected backpacker hostels (including: Palace Backpackers Brisbane or Hervey Bay, with Cairns, Mission Beach and Airlie Beach options available). Accommodation vouchers may be used at you own convenience. No expiry dates!

You must be at Palace Backpackers by 7:00am on the day of departure in order to attend Fraser Island briefing. All members of the group must attend meeting.
Drivers must be 21 years of age or older and hold a current valid drivers licence. Under 21's welcome as passengers!!
