Located high in the Hinterland between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Southern Queensland, O'Reilly's is the perfect place to get close to nature, or to just relax and unwind and leave the stresses of the world behind.
Many things have changed since the owners started welcoming guests all those years ago, but their message has always been the same…welcome…enjoy their hospitality and the unique character of this breathtakingly beautiful part of the world.
This is a hallmark their family and staff are very proud of we enjoy getting to know you while you're visiting, and they've forged many lasting friendships over the years.
The owners learned a long time ago that not all guests are looking for the same sort of adventures and experiences. And so it is with accommodation.
Today O'Reilly's offers a range of guest rooms to cater to all tastes, from the grandeur of the luxurious Canopy Suites through the most popular Mountain View Rooms to the simple yet comfortable Garden View. Most rooms also take advantage of the magnificent mountain views.
Lounge & LibraryTheir Log Fire Lounge Room and Library has a large open fireplace that beckons during the cooler weather. Grab something to read from the Library’s range of natural history and general reading books, and curl up in a comfy chair in front of the fire.
Games Room
The Games Room is equipped with a pool table and table tennis table, but is more importantly headquarters for the Scrub Club, the children’s activities club. You can also borrow board games from reception to enjoy in the games room.
Recreation Facilities
Energize yourself at the Pool and Spa area. Relax in their heated plunge pool, sauna or hot tub after your day’s adventures. There’s even a children’s wading pool, so the whole family can enjoy the spa area.
The Rainforest Bar
Enjoy the jovial relaxed atmosphere of the Guesthouse's favourite meeting place. The Rainforest Bar is their licensed Bar with an all timber interior and large verandah overlooking the mountains with views that go on forever and a lovely warming fireplace (which has even been known to be roaring on Christmas Day).
The Lost World Spa
Opening in March 2008, O'Reilly's Lost World Spa will provide a truely exciting and unique spa experience. Set in the heart of Lamington National Park the facility will provide eight treatment rooms and support facilities providing a full menu of pampering treatments using high quality products reflective of the local area.
This facility will provide the Gold Coast region with a true destinational spa experience and will be a valued addition to the Gold Coast tourism infrastructure.
Accommodation Information:
Bithongabel Single Rooms- The Bithongabel Single Rooms feature a single bed, tea and coffee making facilities, small bar fridge, private bathroom and private balcony with views to the West.
- These motel style rooms feature red cedar shutters, hand crafted Queensland Maple furniture and timber queen-sized beds. All six rooms have private ensuites and views of the gardens around the guesthouse.
- All Mountain View Rooms boast a private balcony where you can relax and soak up the magnificent views to the McPherson ranges.
- Their most popular style of room, the spacious high-set rooms feature exposed beams, natural timbers, raked ceilings and private bathroom. Most rooms contain a queen and single bed, whilst six family rooms also contains additional bedding for two extra guests, and two are equipped for wheelchair occupation.
- Three suites adjoin the luxuriant rainforest canopy and offer twice the space of our standard Mountain View rooms.
- A comfortable living area features recycled timber flooring, lounge chairs, audio system, library and bar. The suites have four large balconies with spectacular views of the rainforest foliage and western mountain ranges.
- A spacious bedroom features a king-size four-poster bed, sofa and a warming fireplace. To top it all off, the bathroom has a spa bath with views through a full-length picture window of the breathtaking mountain scenery. Put yourself in this picture!
- One of the former O'Reilly family homes has been transformed into two stunning guest units. The two units are simply referred to as 'Vince' and 'Lona' who, as second-generation family members, raised their ten children in the house and contributed so much to the guesthouse for over 40 years. li>Each unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate living room and two way fireplace. The large decks, complete with private spa bath, look out onto the rugged McPherson Ranges to the west and provide uninterrupted views of the most magical of sunsets.
- Polished timber floors, cedar shutters and handcrafted Queensland Maple furniture complement the warmth and character of the building. A mini bar and stereo in the living area add the final touches.
- The main bedroom of each boasts a spectacular king-size four poster bed and is fully ensuited. The bedroom also has direct access to the spa located on the outside deck. The second bedroom features a king size ensemble bed that can be transformed into two large single beds if required.

Discover waterfalls, spectacular lookouts and enchanting rainforest environments, including ancient Antarctic Beech forests with trees several thousand years old.
O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk
O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk is a major attraction, this 180 metre walkway is suspended 20 metres above the rainforest floor and provides a bird's eye view of the rainforest canopy and can easily be enjoyed by visitors of all ages (wheel chair accessible).
Discovery Program Activities
Their Discovery Program is an integral part of O'Reilly's commitment to sharing knowledge and awareness of World Heritage Lamington National Park and its unique inhabitants. Guests regularly comment on how amazed they are by how much they see and learn when they choose to join one of their Discovery guides. They show you things you would never have found on your own, and elaborate on these findings with fascinating insights into the intricacies of the rainforest ecosystem.
They invite you to join their activities during your visit. Tours and destinations change daily but as sure as the sun rises each morning, there's a full program of interpretive rainforest walks, guided 4WD bus excursions, adventure activities and evening tours scheduled every single day of the year.
