Gold Coast Holidays, Australia
The Gold Coast has become one of Australia's premier tourist destinations and the best place for your next Queensland holiday. Since the 1960’s when the tourism boom started in the area there has been unbelievable growth and the entire region has been the development capital of the country. Hundreds of high rise resorts now line the beachfronts from Coolangatta in the south right through to the Gold Coast seaway. The central areas of Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Main Beach have become home to some of the most sought after resorts that are situated either on or close to the beachfront and the boutique shopping centers in Caville Ave, Tedder Ave and Nikon Plaza with the huge Pacific Fair shopping center close by.
At the southern end of the Gold Coast there has also been a development race and centers like Coolangatta, Mermaid beach and Burleigh Heads have joined the race to attract their share of the tourist dollar. The mountainous region to the west of the Gold Coast is known as the Gold Coast hinterland and this region is magnificent. Here you can see tall Australian eucalypt forests, tropical rainforests and mountain streams and waterfalls all located within an hour and a half’s drive from the tourist centre. There are several resorts set amid the rainforest where you can stay and enjoy that special feeling that you get when surrounded by the Australian bush. It’s time to let the Kookaburras wake you up in the morning with their raucous laughter.
