Location Information:

Located on the shores of the beautiful Lady Bay, Warrnambool is the largest city on the Great Ocean Road. With clean sheltered beaches, pleasant parks and gardens, historical shipwrecks and visiting whales, the 'City by the Sea' offers the facilities of a progressive city, with the charm of a seaside town.

The recreated maritime village of Flagstaff Hill offers visitors the opportunity experience an 1870's coastal port. Come back at night time to experience the world class laser show 'Shipwrecked'.

The coastline between Port Fairy and Cape Otway is a literal graveyard for over 80 sailing ships, with 29 of these lying on the bed of Warrnambool's Lady Bay. The 22km Mahogany Trail walking track passes the mysterious shipwreck site of a Portuguese vessel, thought to have run aground in the 1500's.

Warrnambool features a number of exciting events including the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic in January, the Grand Annual Steeplechase & horse racing carnival in May, the Fun4Kids Festival in June and the Melbourne to Warrnambool Road Cycling Classic in October. Neighbouring Port Fairy is home to the famous folk festival that takes place in March.
