Children on Hayman Island
Hayman, which has been named Leading Family Resort Australasia in the 2008 World Travel Awards, has heaps of fun and exciting activities happening at Hernando’s Hideaway, an exquisite cottage nestled in the gardens near the marina.
This special place is home to the Kids Club and Crèche and welcomes young visitors up to the age of 12. Babysitting services are also available in the resort.
Look out for the special two-course Kids Menus in Hayman's restaurants which have been designed just for children and offer healthy and nutritious food. For children aged 4-12 years inclusive, a 50% discount applies for children's portions selected from a la carte menus in the restaurants. Full prices apply for beverages. There is no charge for children aged up to 4 years dining in the restaurants or for milk or other formulae ordered for babies' bottles through In Room Dining.
In consideration of other guests, children should NOT bring to Hayman any scooters, rollerboards etc. as there is lots to entertain them on the island.
KIDS CLUB
Head to the Kids Club if you are aged 5 to 12 years. It is open from 9.00am to 12.00 noon mornings, 2.00pm to 5.00pm afternoons and, during Australian School Holidays, it is also open in the evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
A charge of $A60 per session applies for your visit to the Kids Club and they offer special rates if you have brothers and sisters coming along. You’ll have great fun in the adventure playground plus there are watersports, arts and crafts afternoons and special dinners.
If you are attending for a full day, the Kids Club can be opened by arrangement from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm, at a cost of $A40 per child, including lunch.
ADVENTURE
At each session of the Kids Club, during the Australian School Holidays, they’ll be taking you to the mystical waters surrounding Hayman for an exhilarating watersport adventure. They’ll select the adventure on the day for you to enjoy free of charge (is covered by your entry to the Kids Club). Each adventure will be subject to weather conditions and don’t forget to bring along your hat and sunscreen.
Snorkelling Drop Off
1-2 Hours
A speedboat will take you to the stunning beaches of Langford, Bali Hai or Blue Pearl Bay II for a refreshing swim and snorkelling.
Speedboat Rides
Up to 1 Hour
Hop on our speedboat for a thrilling and exciting high-speed ride as we circle Hayman and visit close to neighbouring islands.
Inflatable Rides
Up to 30 Minutes
Catch the ultimate ride of a lifetime. Who can stay on the longest on this unforgettable inflatable escapade?
CRECHE
If you are aged 6 weeks to 5 years, the Crèche is the place for you. They want to make sure you have fun on Hayman, while Mum and Dad relax in the knowledge that you are in a happy and safe environment.
The Crèche is open from 9.00am to 12.00 noon mornings and 2.00pm to 5.00pm afternoons for you to enjoy outdoor games in your own playground plus fun puzzles and other exciting activities.
A charge of $A60 per session applies for your visit to the Creche. If you are attending for a full day, the Creche can be open by arrangement from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm, at a cost of $A40 per child, including lunch.
During your first visit they’ll be asking Mum and Dad to ring after the first half-hour to see if you’re settling in all right.
Baby products are available for purchase through the Crèche.
BABYSITTING
If you or other young ones in your family need babysitting, Mum and Dad can book a babysitter during your stay.
Evening baby sitting rates per hour are:
$A24 for 1 or 2 children
$A30 for 3 children
$A48 for 4 or more children (two baby sitters required)
Above rates are for a minimum 3 hours.
Special rates also apply if you are staying on Hayman over Christmas and New Year.
