Lady Elliot Island Resort is a 42 hectare coral cay island located right on the Great Barrier Reef. This is where the Southern Great Barrier Reef begins and is within a 4 hour drive north of Brisbane. Access to the island is by short scenic flight from five locations. Daily flights are available from Coolangatta, Maroochydore, Hervey Bay or Bundaberg, with flights from Gladstone available Thursday to Monday. Day Tours or overnight stays are available. Resort facilities include four styles of accomodation, laundry, licensed dining room and bar, poolside bistro/bar, swimming pool, reef education centre and library, dive shop and resort shop, lockers and showering facilities for day guests.
Be hands-on with nature at one of the top dive and snorkelling sites in the world. Lady Elliot Island is the first coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. Step off the beach and snorkel, swim or scuba dive in the world's richest marine eco-system.

PADI DIVE RESORT SHOP
The dive shop provides for all your snorkelling and diving requirements. All dive gear is available for hire and Snorkelling equipment is available free of charge. A small range of products are available for purchase from the dive shop. A range of PADI Certified dive courses are available.
REEF EDUCATION CENTRE
The reef education centre provides an area for guests and education groups to learn about the marine life and history of Lady Elliot Island. Featuring Information boards, interactive display, Informative videos.
Accommodation Information:
Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort has different styles of accommodation at the resort. You can choose between Eco Huts, Shearwater Rooms, Reef Units and Island Suites. All the accommodation types have been designed to minimise impact on the island and give the guests a wonderful experience of nature and the seasonal wildlife.
All linen supplied and changed regularly.
ECO HUTS
The Eco Huts are roomy permanent safari-style tents constructed with canvas and polished wooden floors. Each hut can accommodate four people with two sets of double bunk single beds in each. They all have windows with fly screens and zip up canvas portions for privacy, there is also electric lighting and power points available in every cabin as well as a free standing fan.
These Eco Huts do not have bathroom facilities, but communal toilets, showers, washing machines, dryers, ironing plus coffee and tea facilities are nearby.
SHEARWATER ROOM
These Shearwater Rooms are budget accommodation and great for large families and groups of friends. These rooms can sleep up to six people in bunk-style single beds. All Shearwater rooms have private bathroom and wall fan. Each room has a private balcony set with table and chairs.
REEF UNITS
The Reef Units are set in blocks of three, some of these units have just a queen bed but most of these units come with a queen and a bunk bed, great for families. These units have wardrobe space, a ceiling fan, tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar fridge. There is an ensuited bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Each unit has its own large balcony with patio furniture.
ISLAND SUITE / 2 BEDROOM
These Island Suites are absolute beach frontage with private balcony, they are spacious and can accommodates up to four people. The suites have a separate air-conditioned lounge, a kitchenette with a bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and basin. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has two single beds and the spacious bathroom includes a shower.

At Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef, you can step off the beach and snorkel, swim or dive in an underwater holiday world of brilliantly coloured species of marine life, or just simply relax and soak in the natural island atmosphere. The lagoon protects and nurtures the curiosity of the beginners while a little further out experienced snorklers and divers descend to see the coral sea.
Lady Elliot Island is one of only six island resorts on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, and one of only three with direct flight access to the island airstrip. The island is located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in the highest possible classification of Marine National Park Zone by GBRMPA. Lady Elliot is an island teeming with life and live corals, famous for a resident population of 40 Manta Rays which form the iconic logo of the island.
Tour the reef in a glass bottomed boat, learn to scuba dive, feed the fish, take a guided reef walk or stroll to a deserted beach and live the dream. With exceptionally clear water year round, you may encounter turtles, dolphins and a large variety of coral, fish and giant manta rays. If you are there for the right season you may see birds nesting, turtle hatchlings emerging from the sand or migrating humpback whales blow and breech.
