GETTING THERE
Passenger Ferry:
Base Bus meets most of the passenger ferries that come in. The ferry leaves from Townsville about 12 times a day. This trip costs $29 return. When you get to the island, all you have to do is walk up to the bus and jump on and tell the driver you want express to Base Backpackers. 2 Minute drive.
Car Ferry:
The car ferry is only a 2 minute drive from Townsville centre. This trip will cost around $120 per car, depending on the size and weight. When you get off the ferry turn left, past the supermarket. When you are driving along the road next to the beach, you will see the resort at the end of the stretch. You will recognise it as the nearest neighbour is 1.2km away.
