Main Beach Dining
Main Beach dining is generally aimed at the upper end of the market. There are two areas where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. The first is Tedder Avenue which is Main Beach's boutique shopping street and is centrally located with regard to the majority of holiday resorts in the area. Here you can choose from a range of street side diners, restaurants and cafes. Most of these are alfresco style and street side tables here are usually full of trendy diners who have parked their imported sports car just down the road where everyone can see it. Food quality is excellent and the atmosphere is definatly upmarket and relaxed.

The other dining precinct is on the southern end of the Southport Spit and around the Marina Mirage shopping center and the local marina's. There are dozens of restaurants here and most of them are on verandas, right on the waterfront and overlooking all the boats and the marina action. You can choose from a great steakhouse, Mediterranean style eatery or Italian pasta restaurant or many other ethnic suppliers like Chinese, Thai and Australian meals.Main Beach accommodation is within walking distance of both of these dining precincts.

There are also several other choices for dining in Main Beach. Floating restaurants operate from the marina region both day and night and there are also lots of the usual take away outlets if you want to take the kids out for a meal.
