At 24.9m in length she is the largest International Offshore Racing Maxi ever built. Matador was designed, developed and constructed at a cost of over US$20 million in 1991. The yacht is constructed from carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium. Matador competed in 52 races, 8 regattas and 2 Maxi world championships and was undefeated!
Matador is truly an awesome sailing machine. Guests travelling on Matador also have the option to camp ashore in our private double/twin tents.

SCUBA Diving Available On Board
Matador is equipped for on board scuba diving and includes one free 20min dive. She has on board dive instructors to take beginner and certified divers around the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier reef Marine Park.

Camping on the Whitsunday Islands
Enjoy the peace and tranquility of sleeping under the stars at a secluded beach in the Whitsunday Islands. With a maximum of 2 guests per tent, this is a great option for couples looking for some privacy, guests who are nervous about getting seasick, or people just looking to experience nature at it's best!
This opportunity is unique to Oz Adventure Sailing. Passengers who book this option participate in all the daily activities but at night enjoy the privacy of sleeping ashore at our secluded island camping locations.
* What is Supplied
All camping gear is supplied including a two man tent, double blow up matress,
linen, sleeping bag, pillows and a torch. A crew member will stay on land with
guests and they will endeavour to stay at campsites with ammenities.
* What to Bring
Warm clothes in winter, insect repellent and appropriate footware.

There is a fee levied on all passengers to cover park entry fees and administration costs. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife charge fees for entry into the Marine and National Parks. The overall fee includes these costs and our administration costs. These fees are subject to change and are payable at check in. At the time of publishing a total fee of $33 is recommended by the Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association to cover these costs. This includes Environment Management Charge of $5.00 per day, Queensland Parks Activity Fee of $1.45 per day, and Administration Fee plus Goods and Services Tax of $4.55 per day. There is a 2.2% surcharge for credit card purchases that may apply.
