If you like to play golf on your holiday then Palm Cove is the right spot for you. Palm Cove is centrally located between Cairns and Port Douglas and there are a number of excellent golf courses in the region. If the rest of the family are not golfing fanatics like yourself, there are plenty of other activities and attractions around Palm Cove to keep everyone occupied. You can stay here in excellent beachfront five star lodgings and enjoy all the local cafes and restaurants, take tours to the Great Barrier Reef or the Daintree Rainforest or just relax on your balcony overlooking the balmy Coral Sea.
The best local golf course is the Paradise Palms layout. This golf course is a beautiful resort course complimented by excellent facilities and has views of the mountain backdrop and rainforests that surround it. It is ranked in the top 25 courses in Australia. All equipment and buggy hire is available if you don’t want to cart your own clubs around with you. About thirty minutes drive to the north along one of Australia’s most scenic roads is the town of Port Douglas. There are two great resort courses here. The course at the Sheraton Mirage resort is fantastic with the layout having plenty of water hazards and the beach along its eastern boundary. The Sea Temple resort course is also excellent with a beautiful plantation style clubhouse and an excellent tropical layout with plenty of water hazards. The odd lazy crocodile also makes an occasional visit to the ninth fairway. The tropical town of Mossman is about thirty kilometres away and it has a lovely local course. This course is almost always open for visitors to play.
Cairns to the south has several excellent resort courses and the Cairns Golf Club itself always welcomes visitors. Palm Cove is right in the middle of this golf lovers paradise so when you holiday in your tropical accommodation, remember to bring your golf clubs with you.
