Carnarvon National Park is situated in the rugged ranges of Queensland's central highlands. The lush, spectacular Gorge is the best known part of Carnarvon National Park, which also includes drier and less developed sections at Mt Moffatt, Ka Ka Mundi and Salvator Rosa.

Golden Mount Historic Railway Museum is home to the Hunslett Locomotive which has been preserved and restored by the Golden Mount Rail Preservation Society. The Locomotive is historically significant since it is one of the few surviving members of a fleet of numerous industrial locomotives which worked in the Mount Morgan Mine.
CQ Military and Artefacts Museum - The museum houses artefacts from the military history of Rockhampton and district including American Army uniforms from World War Two and a room devoted entirely to Rockhampton history.
