Surfers Paradise has an excellent supply of budget accommodation. As Surfers was the first region in the Gold Coast to start building resort style accommodation, some of the older resorts can no longer command premium prices so their tarrifs have slipped to the budget end of the market. The closer to the beach you get, the more likely the older resorts have been pulled down and replaced by new ones, so if you dont mind a short walk, you will be able to find plenty of reasonably priced accommodation. Many of the recently renoved resorts have been turned into backpacker hostels and these are a very good blace to find a well presented but cheaper alternative. Similarly, many of the older motels which were constructed back in the sixties and seventies are also a great place to look for budget accommodation. There are also many clean and well presented older resorts where you can find great value. Even though the Gold Coast is a place where there are many glitzy new resorts, you can still find Surfers Paradise accommodation that will fit into the budget catagory.
