Let your dog run free on our 4 kilometers of beautiful wide sandy beach and splash in the shallows; dogs love it here.
If you need some peace and quiet just drop the kids off in the shaded Bucasia Beach playground next door where you can keep an eye on them in comfort.
We’re well located for all the usual requirements like supermarkets and liquor shops – at this stage, we even have our own pizza man on-site!
We have a boat ramp with trailer parking next door so you can get to the islands Brampton, Keswick, and St Bees in your own boat with all the convenience of the park’s facilities when you return from snorkeling and fishing.
Our free Thursday night get-togethers are a legend but are warned many local area ‘vanners’ like to get in early for a weekend on the beach.
Mackay is the gateway to the Whitsundays. Brampton and Keswick Islands, for instance, are only half an hour by boat. This is a water sports paradise: sailing, canoeing, kite surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and of course, fishing (beach, estuary, reef, and deep-sea) are all available in the area.
Onshore you can golf, dine, shop, and day-trip around the region. Explore the natural wonders with an icy dip at the splendid falls at Finch Hatton Gorge or venture further on to Eungella National Park with its flora and fauna, you might even spot a platypus! The thriving City of Mackay has all the modern services you need.
The Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park is in Mackay in North Queensland. It was definitely a favorite of ours on our Big Lap, so we couldn’t wait to return and stay once again.
Macca and Patty, the Park Managers, are as good as they get and really provide a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your stay. The park is located right near the beach. There are sites along the front with fabulous views overlooking the ocean and islands.
There’s a great pool which has been recently renovated and a BBQ area. Free Wifi is available.
The Bucasia Beachfront Caravan Park is pet-friendly. We had excellent Telstra & Vodafone coverage.
