Hotel Brandon is located 74km south of Townsville on the Bruce Highway in the beautiful Burdekin region. It is the perfect place for your next outing in town, no matter the occasion. With a sports bar, restaurant, UBET and keno facilities, we have something for locals and passers-through, alike.
Known mostly for its sugar cane, between the months of June to November of an evening, local cane farmers burn their cane crops to remove excess leaf matter. These blazing fires are quite a sight to see at night from the Hotel Brandon as the ash spreads through the sky and becomes, what locals call it, ‘black snow’.
A key point of interest at our great little pub can be seen when driving into the carpark where you’ll notice a plane on the roof. Depending on who you talk to, the story on how it got there is always different, but each story is very interesting. One has suggested a crop dusting plane crashed here and was left there became Brandon’s equivalent of the ‘Big Banana’.
