Mackay resorts can mostly be found on the beachfront on Mackay northern beaches. Blacks Beach is the most popular and there are several resorts there. At Illawong beach you will find the Ocean international resort which provides some of the best places to stay in Mackay At the Mackay marina precinct there is excellent hotel and resort accommodation and some of the island resorts of the Whitsunday region lie just offshore. The closest of these is Brampton Island resort and it can be accessed from mack by ferry and air transfers. A new Mercure hotel has recently been opened in the Mackay CBD. Mackay now has an excellent range of resort style accommodation.
