What to expect
You'll start late afternoon aboard the restored rail motor, watching light fade across floodplain grassland whilst sipping a drink and nibbling locally sourced canapés. The driver shares stories about the route and region. After sunset, you'll move to the riverside dinner venue—full table service, two hot courses cooked camp-oven style, then damper with billy tea or coffee. An outback performer takes the stage with original songs and tall tales. The whole experience runs about four hours. Bring a jumper for the cool evening; it's genuinely outdoors.
