YOUR CEREMONY

Your Celebrant

Once you have confirmed your wedding date with the Wedding Coordinator, they will then confirm a marriage celebrant who will conduct the ceremony. You are of course able to choose your own celebrant, should you wish to do so. The marriage celebrant will discuss with you the legal procedures, as well as the ceremony content.

Legal Requirements

To marry in Australia you must be 18 years of age or over.

Documents required consist of:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Valid 10 year passport
  • If divorced – Decree Absolute
  • If widowed – Death Certificate of former spouse and previous Marriage Certificate
  • If your name has changed by deed poll – legal proof
  • Notice of Intended Marriage – available from Australian Embassy in your country
  • Originals of all documents including Notice of Intended Marriage are required at the resort before the ceremony.

Flowers

A wedding bouquet for the bride and a button hole for the groom are included in your wedding package. Additional flowers can be arranged for your ceremony or reception.

YOUR CELEBRATION

Wedding Cake

A wedding cake is included in the wedding package. At an additional cost, their chef can coordinate a larger cake to cater for your needs. Cake options are available upon request.

Your Reception

Your Wedding Coordinator can tailor a reception to suit the size and style of your wedding.

Heron Island offers a variety of reception options both indoor and outdoor

Your Wedding Coordinator will ensure that you and your guests leave Heron Island with lifelong memories of your special day.

Exclusively Yours

Heron Island can be booked exclusively for you and your guests for your wedding celebrations. Take advantage of the intimate setting and flawless service to provide your wedding guests with a truly unique experience to reflect upon for years to come.

Once the accommodation and wedding package have been booked, your details will be forwarded to the Wedding Coordinator at Heron Island. The Wedding Coordinator will contact you for the finer details and arrangements regarding the ceremony and your special day.

LOCATION & GETTING THERE

Your Location

Heron Island is the perfect setting for a wedding celebration of just two, or up to 250. No matter what the size is of your celebration, you will be offered personal service and attention to detail.

Where Do We Hold Our Ceremony?

Upon arrival at Heron Island the resort Wedding Coordinator will show you the different sites for you to choose your ceremony location. For a unique ceremony experience, you can exchange your vows on a number of different soft white powder sand beaches located around the island. Alternatively, if you prefer a garden wedding with an ocean view, then the resort is a perfect location for your special moment.

Getting There

Heron Island lies on the Tropic of Capricorn, 72 kilometres NE off the coast from Gladstone. Regular flights are available from Australian capital cities to Gladstone with Qantas. You can transfer to Heron Island from Gladstone by boat charter, or view the spectacular reef by Helicopter transfer.
