BIG EYE PRODUCTIONS is associated with Townsville Aboriginal Islander Media Association. A Community Based Organisation that was began in 1981, now has 4KIG (Kwangie) Radio Station and a BRACS Unit – Broadcast in Remote Aboriginal Community Service.
BIG EYE PRODUCTIONS began in 1988, when a real need was Identified by Indigenous People to make Culturally appropriate programs.
They have produced a variety of production for community, government, clients, and television.
Programs produced, deal with issues that educate, inform and confront Aboriginal and Islander people, topics range from Health, Education, Land Rights and many other concerns.

Big Eye Productions is made up of a Majority Indigenous full time staff – with skills ranging from Producers, Directors, Writers, Camera Operators, Audio and Editors. BIG EYE PRODUCTIONS has the expertise and equipment to record high quality footage on Location. Location Equipment includes: Betacam SP & SVHS camera’s Recorders Tripods Microphones Lights Audio Mixer Accessories Transport
All equipment are operated by highly trained personal and 4 WD transport Van allows the Unit to film in almost any location at any time.
There are 2 x SVHS Edit Suites which can be used for many different projects.
Suite 1 includes a vision switcher and titles and this suite is primarily used for the completion of BRACS (Broadcasting in Remote Communities) programs and smaller projects.
Suite 2 includes a shotlister and can be used for the off-line edits of larger programs. The shotlister generates a computer edit, decision list, which can then be used for On-Lining the final program with a “State Of The Art” computer controlled editing system.
BIG EYE PRODUCTIONS have 2 On-Line Suites, they offer broadcast quality Betacam SP Post Production facilities with Betacm SP machines, Computer controlled by the Matrox Personal Producer, Advanced Transitions Titling and Graphics can be used to create a highly polished program. An AVID MEDIA COMPOSER 900, totally Non Linear System which wile providing Broadcast quality pictures also speeds up the process of editing fare more than conventional tape methods. A fully integrated system which allows production of Graphics and Multi Media.
Our 2D and 3D animation equipment can create stunning logo’s, diagrams, animation which can also be included as part of the video digital recording and mixing facilities complete the System.
