What to expect
You'll meet your handler at a Buderim environmental park and receive a safety briefing before putting on gloves and equipment. The session starts with close-up owl handling—you'll learn how to position your arm and read the birds' signals before launching them into flight. Between flights, your guide shares natural history and ecology of Queensland's owl species whilst you explore the surrounding forest trails. The pace is relaxed; expect lots of standing still and quiet observation.
