What to expect
You'll start with safety briefing and board familiarisation on the beach, then paddle into shallow water where your instructor demonstrates the take-off technique. The foil lifts you above the surface once you've built momentum—the sensation is genuinely novel. Expect to fall a few times; that's part of it. Most people achieve sustained flight within the first 45 minutes. Your instructor will coach you through body positioning and throttle control.
