What to expect
You'll start with a safety briefing, then mount your ATV and head into the rainforest. Expect to navigate water crossings, climbing in and out of creek beds, with your guide pointing out native plants, animals and geological features as you go. The forest is dense and humid; you'll feel the age of it. Midway through, you'll swap to an army truck for a different vantage of the canopy. The climax is Cassowary Falls—a clear pool fed by a waterfall, genuinely refreshing. Bring a snorkel if you want to see fish and turtles up close. You'll get wet and muddy; that's the point.
Good to know
