Bargara is a sensational place for a golf holiday. It is situated at the southern end of the region known as the Discovery Coast and is about four hours drive north from Brisbane. Golfers coming to the Bargara region for holiday activities will find excellent facilities and courses in the region. Local places to stay ranges from apartments and hotels through to resorts, one of which is a specialist golf resort. Nearby towns like Bundaberg, Childers, Hervey Bay and Maryborough also have excellent golf courses so if you don’t mind a bit of a drive there is plenty of great golf courses to choose from.
The Bargara Golf Club has a great reputation. Firstly it is a well kept challenging layout and secondly visitors are always welcome. There are always several tournaments each year that attract lots of visitors to the region.
South of the Bargara course is the Coral Cove resort, and it has an eighteen hole resort type layout with some spectacular holes. The resort itself is right on the oceanfront and has excellent accommodation and club house facilities. Coral Cove is the home of Australia’s only par six hole and additionally, one of the par threes is situated right on the beachfront and is particularly challenging. Golf and holiday accommodation packages are readily available.
