Australia Zoo Whale Encounters – Steve’s Whale One is a luxurious vessel that takes guests on an exclusive Australia Zoo Whale Encounter. Departing from The Wharf Mooloolaba, it cruises the beautiful coastline of the Sunshine Coast in search of the majestic Humpback Whale.
Since its first voyage, there has been a stack of whale sightings and thousands of happy customers. The magnificent vessel caters to up to 115 people, features a 360-degree observation deck, and plenty of room to take in all the whale action!

Steves Whale One
Steve’s Whale One is a spectacular vessel that boasts 20 meters of comfort, including a 360-degree observation deck and room for up to 115 guests. The name Steve’s Whale One is as special as the vessel itself. It was named after Steve Irwin’s two children, Bindi Sue and Robert. Bindi said she wanted to call the vessel “Whale One” and Robert said he liked to call it “Steve”. And so it became Steve’s Whale One. The name encapsulates exactly what the vessel is about: Steve’s passion for Australia’s precious marine life and their environment and for enabling guests to have an authentic Australia Zoo experience onboard a luxurious vessel.
Steve’s Whale One aims to provide you with a unique Australia Zoo marine encounter. You will be taken on an adventure of a lifetime along the beautiful coastline of the Sunshine Coast. The luxurious mega vessel is the second vessel to join Irwin’s fleet. Croc One was the first and was personally designed by Steve. Croc One is Australia’s premier extreme adventure and wildlife vessel and boasts 71 feet of the same luxury as Steve’s Whale One. Australia Zoo Adventure Cruises are set in the extraordinary location of Mooloolaba. Whilst boarding Steve’s Whale One at Mooloolaba Wharf, guests are greeted by our friendly, professional staff and served welcome drinks on arrival.
The adventure and excitement then begin when we cruise through the exquisite canals of Mooloolaba, passing by some of the Sunshine Coasts’ finest, multi-million dollar mansions whilst guests enjoy their meals prepared by our talented chef.
They then cruise out of the canals and along the Sunshine Coasts’ famous beaches whilst taking in the breathtaking sights.
Cruises can also be designed to include a trip around the majestic Old Woman Island. Home to many species of fish, sea turtles, dolphins, and sea birds, Old Woman Island is sure to impress.
