Fishing

Every fisherman will be happy in Queensland. From deep sea charters from Brisbane to surf fishing on Fraser Island and crabbing in Cairns, the variety of fishing in Queensland is endless.

Kayaking

Kayak in Queensland in rainforest edged rivers or in the oceans next to pristine white sand beaches. Kayaking can be relaxing, an opportunity for fishing or provide an adrenaline rush when the waters get choppy; there is an option for everyone. Some of our favourite locations for kayaking are the beautiful Moreton Bay Islands National Park and the Noosa Everglades.

Sailing

The coast of Queensland offers so many opportunities for sailing, with the beautiful Whitsunday Islands being one of the most popular locations. If you fancy a challenge why not sign up for some lessons and take the first step to becoming a skipper yourself.

Surfing

The Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast have an array of surf schools where you find your sea legs and seasoned surfers will be spoilt for choice for surf spots in Queensland. If you visit at the of February, why not head to the world famous surf town of Noosa for their annual Festival of Surfing?

Scuba diving/Snorkelling

The Great Barrier Reef is known as one of the best scuba diving and snorkelling locations in the world. You can enjoy diving and snorkelling straight from the beach on islands like Lady Elliot, Heron and Lizard.

Dive and snorkelling trips head out from the Queensland coast nearly every day of the year or live-aboard boats give you the chance to go further out into the reef and explore for a few days.

White Water Rafting

Tully River is one of the best known spots for white water rafting in Queensland. Kit up, jump in, grab an oar – you WILL get wet.

Keeping your feet on the ground

Cycling or Mountain Biking

There is fantastic mountain biking in Queensland, with purpose built single-track in the Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park or join the locals on the trails in the Glass House Mountains.

Travel at a leisurely rate on a cycling tour though the Granite Belt, taking in the stunning scenery and sampling the delicious local cheeses, olives and wines.

Horse riding

The panorama of Queensland makes for unforgettable horse riding, whether you choose beach rides in Cape Tribulation or a moonlit trek at Ocean View (maybe followed by some local wine tasting?).

Walking and Hiking

Walking tours, guided hikes, bushwalking or exploring the National Parks of Queensland, there are miles and miles for you to discover. Enjoy ocean views on the Colundra Coastal Walk, maybe spotting dolphins along the way or search out the WWII structures on the Magnetic Island Fort walk.

Winery tours

No trip to Queensland would be complete without sampling the local wines. Winery tours can be found in Stanthorpe, Brisbane, The Sunshine Coast, The Scenic Rim and South Burnett; it really would be rude not to…

4 Wheel Driving

Adrenaline junkies will be pleased to know that there are countless opportunities for 4×4 driving in Queensland. If you have your own 4WD, some of our top choices can be found in Coolalah for easier routes or Sundown National Park if you want to test your driving skills.

One of our most memorable sunrises was from a hot air balloon in Cairns. Experience a moment of absolute tranquillity before watching world wake up.  If you want a celebrate a special occasion, find the prefect moment to ‘pop the question’ or just see the world from a different angle try a hot air balloon ride in Queensland.

Scenic plane trips
