You can even come to Magnetic Island on your own boat and rent a berth at the marina or anchor up in one of the picturesque bays.
Some of Magnetic Island’s most popular activities include fishing from the original jetty at Nelly Bay, where you can catch something worthwhile for dinner or lazing on the beach at Horseshoe bay soaking up the sun and the holiday atmosphere. Here you will also find a variety of water toys for hire including jet ski’s and sailing boats. For the golfer, Magnetic Island has a beautiful nine hole course which Greg Norman described as one of the most challenging courses in Queensland. It is well kept and has an excellent clubhouse where you can relax after the game. Many of the bays and rocky headlands have fringing coral reefs which makes the island ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Day sailing adventures and fishing charters are also available from the boat harbour.
The island has several great restaurants, a number of galleries and also is home to a huge population of unique Australian wildlife. There are Koala and Kangaroo, as well as possums and sugar gliders. Even the occasional crocodile comes and visits the islands mangrove areas.
