Port Douglas accommodation is amongst the most sophisticated in Queensland. The hub of Port Douglas is MacCrossan St which has the beach at one end and the inlet and marina area at the other. Most accommodation is located within walking distance and MacCrossan St which has a wonderful village atmosphere with a multitude of restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops, boutiques, cafes and galleries lining its length. The atmosphere is tropical and lush vegetation and gardens are everywhere.

There is a range of Port Douglas accommodation properties right in the village area. The Outrigger hotels group lead the way with The Outrigger Heritage, Outrigger in the Village and Outrigger on the Inlet which overlooks both the shopping area and the Port Douglas Inlet. The palm lined avenue leading into Port Douglas is home to a multitude of luxury resorts. Some of these are absolutely awesome and cater to most budgets but do trend towards the very top end of the market.
