Palm Cove Holidays

A holiday in Palm Cove in Far north Queensland will provide a glimpse into the attractions and activities of the tropical north of Australia. Palm Cove lies midway between Cairns and Port Douglas and provides an enclave where top-quality resorts and hotels line the beachfront and overlook the magnificent waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Palm Cove has a reputation for being a superb resort town with luxury apartment-style accommodations right along the beautiful beach that Palm Cove is so famous for. This is probably the best beach in the Cairns/ Port Douglas region. Double Island lies just offshore and enhances the view from every apartment balcony. Palm Cove is also a popular destination for family holidays.

Holidays in this region are never boring! Apart from the beachfront location with its obvious attractions, there are plenty of other activities to get involved in. Dining in the local restaurants is fantastic. The Atherton Tableland is only a short drive away and can also be accessed by the Skyrail or the train from Cairns. Barron Falls can be a magnificent spectacle, especially during the wet season and the train crosses over the falls on the return journey back to Cairns. No holiday in Palm Cove is complete without a trip to the Great Barrier Reef and Quicksilver cruises pick up from the Palm Cove wharf. Fishing and diving trips are also a specialty in this region.

To the north is Ellis Beach and the drive from here to Port Douglas, hugs the coastline and is one of the most scenic in Australia. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Palm Cove to Port Douglas and the trip is magnificent. With Port Douglas and Cairns being so close, it is possible to take tours from either one which increases the range of available entertainment. The Daintree Rainforest is a must-visit destination while staying in the Palm Cove region and a picnic at Mossman Gorge for a family swim is a fantastic activity to take part in.

If you are a golf fanatic, a Palm Cove holiday is fantastic. You can choose from the local Palm Meadows course or play in Port Douglas or Cairns depending on how you feel on the day. There are so many things to do in your Palm Cove holiday accommodation you may never want to go home.
