Fraser Island is a world heritage listed area, located just of the coast of Hervey Bay and it will leave you in awe of its history and beauty. The island is over 120 kilometers long and has developed over 800,000 years. It is a unique natural environment and is the largest sand island in the world. It is also the only place in the world where rainforests grow in sand. Fraser Islands abundant pristine lakes and crystal clear creeks and streams are some of its major drawcards. You can see up to 325 species of birds, wallabies, possums, flying foxes, echidnas, and Australias purest population of dingoes. Fishing charters in the waters of Hervey Bay and Fraser island can be very productive.The best charters operate from the Urangan boat harbour to the Southern Gutters area and to the continental shelf off the northern tip of Fraser Island.
