The Gold Coast has a number of companies offering whale watching trips. These are mostly available from Southport via the Southport Seaway and take patrons onto the open ocean to view the mighty humpack whales as they migrate past the region. most trips are half a day in duration and operate daily from June until early November. Most operators offer a pick up service
There are a number of whale watching and fishing charters available from the Gold Coast, with Whales in Paradise being the original company founded in the Gold Coast, and they are the only whale watch charter that operates right out of the Heart of the Gold Coast. Gold Coast Whale Watching Tours and Brisbane Whale Watching Tours operate between early June and late October. Their Gold Coast and Brisbane whale watching tours have been so successful that they are proud to have a 100% sighting record in previous years.Whale watching tours are also available from the southern end of the Gold Coast with daily tours operting from Tweed Heads.
