Heron Island accommodation comes in five different configurations. These range from turtle cabins through reef suites, heron suites, and point suites to the beach house. Heron Island Resort is situated on a great barrier reef coral cay, right on the reef itself. The resort is acclaimed for its diving and snorkeling right off the beach. All accommodation at Heron Island is located right on the beach. Heron Island Resort can be accessed from Gladstone by either fast catamaran or by helicopter. It is also probably the best place in Queensland from which to experience the Great Barrier Reef.
