Queensland Family Holidays with Kids

Queensland is a fantastic place to take the kids on holidays. This is because there is so much accommodation available that is suited to families with kids and secondly because there is so much to see and do. In some places like the Gold Coast and the Whitsunday Islands, resort operators have gone out of their way to make sure that there are plenty of activities for kids to enjoy while holidaying in the area and have developed special packages where kids stay, play and eat free to make sure that parents give due consideration to choosing their holiday venue.

The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are very popular destinations. Both have fantastic activities in the form of theme parks, aquariums and zoos which are always family holiday favourites. The Gold Coast in particular has Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld, Wet n Wild Waterpark and the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary. The Sunshine Coast is home to both Australia Zoo and Underwater world, which both provide a full day of entertainment. A bit further north is Hervey Bay and this is a great place to bring the kids. A day spent four wheel driving on Fraser Island or whale watching with the famous Hervey Bay whale watching fleet will be one of those never forgotten holiday memories.

The Whitsunday Island resorts and Airlie Beach are a fantastic destination for a holiday with the kids. There are so many activities for them to participate in. The weather is great and most beachside activities are free. Diving, snorkelling and sailing trips are all on the menu for the kids to enjoy and it is really easy to get to. Hamilton Island has its own airport and there is plenty of family accommodation available in apartment and holiday styles. A choice of restaurants which include a fish and chips store and a pizza parlour will all be a hit with the kids.

In Queensland’s far north the choices of places to go with the kids is fantastic. Port Douglas is a hop step and a jump from the Daintree rainforest, Palm Cove has a fantastic beach and a crocodile farm nearby and Cairns is the tourism capital of the top end with diving, fishing and rainforest expeditions to be enjoyed.

What ever family destination you choose you will certainly enjoy your Queensland holiday with kids.
