Much of it is right on the beachfront. Trinity Beach is smaller, but still has lots to choose from. It is no more than a twenty-minute drive to the city so it really is a great place to choose the best holiday accommodation for you. Most of these beaches have stinger nets to protect swimmers during the stinger season and hire craft like windsurfers, and kayaks are readily available.
There are many apartment-style resorts in the Cairns CBD region that are conveniently located for those wanting a tour of the Great Barrier Reef or the Daintree rainforest. There is a superb water sports center with a huge lagoon-style swimming pool now situated on the Cairns waterfront. This provides a fantastic facility for those who choose to stay in holiday accommodation in the CBD area. The CBD area is also filled with great shopping facilities as well as a range of great restaurants.
